Navtej Kohli Commentary on Virender Sehwag

Monday, March 31st, 2008

On this Navtej Kohli Interest Blog, I bring upon an interesting news to enchant the indian cricket fans. Here is Navtej Kohli reporting to you!!!!

It’s again a great day for the Indian cricket fans. Virender Sehwag has made Indian Cricket team proud once again with his magic touch on the cricket ground.

India opener Virender Sehwag scored 319 on the fourth day of the first test against South Africa on Saturday.

The 29-year-old improved his own Indian record for the highest test score of 309, but failed to break the world record of 400 not out held by West Indies batsman Brian Lara.

Sehwag added 10 runs to his overnight total before edging a rising delivery from paceman Makhaya Ntini to Neil McKenzie at first slip in the fourth over of the day.

Sehwag joined Australian Don Bradman and Lara as the other batsmen who have scored two test triple hundreds.

Great going Sehwag, Keep it up…

Navtej Kohli on Indian Formula 1 Team - Force India

Wednesday, March 26th, 2008

Navtej Kohli interest blog is a place for all the sports freaks and. For all the formula 1 lovers residing in India, here on Navtej Kohli blog I am writing about an exciting news.

The 2008 FIA Formula One World Championship is the harbinger of a new era of Indian motorsport: the first full season for the Force India Formula One Team and a representation of the new young fast paced global Indians and F1 fans from across the world.

The team’s journey started in October 2007 when Dr. Vijay Mallya, together with the Mol family, established a joint-venture company called Orange India Holdings (OIH) to purchase the Spyker Formula One Team from Spyker Cars N.V.

Although Force India’s Formula One challenge will start with the 2008 season at the Melbourne Grand Prix, the team is based on solid foundations. The team is built from the ashes of Jordan Grand Prix, which was established by Irishman Eddie Jordan in 1991, which later became Midland F1 Racing in 2005 and the Spyker Formula One Team in 2006.

Though the first 2 races has brought a hardship for the Indian team, hopes are still high.

Solutions To The Health IQ Quiz - Navtej Kohli

Wednesday, March 12th, 2008

Below is the solution to the quiz that I had posted yesterday on my Navtej Kohli Blog.

1. False. Whole wheat bread is always high in fiber.
Whole wheat bread can be as low in fiber as white bread. “One hundred percent whole grain” is a better indicator that bread is high in fiber.

2. True. Fatty acids, like those found in fish, are healthy for you.
Omega-3 fatty acids lower total cholesterol.

3. True. Microwave cooking preserves the nutrients in vegetables.
Because the food cooks rapidly and is usually in only a small amount of liquid, nutrient loss through evaporation or in the cooking liquid is minimal.

4. False. Taking a vitamin supplement has just as many nutritional benefits as foods.
Whole foods offer greater nutrition benefits because they combine essential vitamins with micronutrients such as phytochemicals and antioxidants.

5. True. You must burn 3500 calories more than you eat to lose 1 pound.
Losing, gaining, and maintaining weight is a matter of balancing calories consumed and expended. You’ll drop a pound if you burn 3,500 calories more than you eat.

6. True. LDL is commonly referred to as “bad” cholesterol.
Low-density lipoprotein (LDL) clogs arteries and raises heart attack risk.

7. False. The USDA recommends moderate to vigorous activity for 30 minutes, 3 to 4 days a week.
The USDA recommends 30 minutes of daily exercise.

8. False. Fruit yogurt is always a low calorie food.
Fruit yogurt often contains added sugar which contributes to overall calorie count.

9. False. Foods high in fat are always bad for you.
Watch your daily fat intake, not just the fat content of individual foods. Many foods, such as avocados, nuts, and fatty fish, are a good source of heart-healthy fats.

10. False. Organic foods have been scientifically proven to be healthier than non-organic foods.
The organic label refers to how a food is grown, handled, and processed. There has been no scientific evidence to date that organic food is more nutritious.

11. False. “Whole wheat” is often a better indicator of high fiber than the term “whole grain”.
While some whole wheat products may claim they’re made with whole-grain, not all are made with 100% whole grains or may contain high amounts of sugar and fat.

12. True. The USDA recommends 6-8 servings of grains each day.
The USDA recommends also recommends that at least half of your daily allowance of grains come from whole-grain sources.

13. False. It is recommended that people have a moderate amount of partially hydrogenated oil in their diet.
Partially hydrogenated oil is a form of unhealthful trans fat, which you want to minimize in your diet.

14. False. There is no difference in the carbohydrate content of white rice and brown rice.
Brown rice may have more fiber than white rice, but the amount of carbohydrates is the same.

15. False. The fat in avocado is good for you.
Avocados are rich in monounsaturated fat: the fat of choice for heart health helps lower total cholesterol levels and LDL, or “bad” cholesterol, and raises HDL, or “good” cholesterol.

16. False. There is increasing evidence that a diet with healthful fats is better for you than an extremely low-fat diet.
Moderation is key to any diet.

Hope all the readers might have learned a lot by this health quiz….

Wedding Photo Trends 2008 - Navtej Kohli Shares his Views

Sunday, March 9th, 2008

What are some of the latest trends emerging in wedding photography in 2008? Navtej Kohli Sheds some light on it.

One of the latest trends is day after wedding photography sessions. The days of ‘pre-bridal’ photo sessions and worrying about getting your dress dirty are gone. Now brides and grooms can participate in a variety of fun, romantic and even sexy sessions after their actual wedding day. Sessions can be done one week, one month or even years after the big day.

There are a variety of after wedding session types including the “trash the dress” session that has been making national headlines. A typical “trash the dress” session starts out with a bride in her wedding gown and a unique location. Artfully posed in a beautiful environment with dramatic lighting lends it’s style to a high-fashion type of photo. Most of the trash the dress style sessions end with the bride in her gown laying in sand or dirt or even in a pool of water.

The name “Trash the Dress” is sometimes confusions. It’s a catchy name for artistic photos taken in unusual places. dress and a little dirt can be dry-cleaned making the dress as good as new.

dramapiece of flair

all 4 love

Well there are pretty good reasons why a bride would want to choose to do a day after session:
• Want to try a different hair or makeup technique
• Wants to look more sexy with poses
• More time to get artistic photos in another location
• Less stressful
• Not worried about getting the dress dirty
• Feels so beautiful in gown and want to wear it again

Navtej Kohli Interest Blog - Cold Calling an Editor is NOT Okay!

Wednesday, March 5th, 2008

I m Navtej Kohli and I am the publishing editor of Navtej Kohli Interest blog, Navtej Kohli Sports Blog and Navtej Kohli IT blog. Earlier, I have posted my address and contact numbers on these blogs… but I had to remove them from all of my blogs, reason was simple…Cold calling an editor/publisher is NOT okay!

Seriously you guys, I don’t understand why people think this is a good idea. I’ve had not less than 14 persons get me on the phone somehow in the last month, and before I say any word they are pitching their requirements to me.

Not Okay. There are submission guidelines for every kind of blog on the net and my blogs being personal and very niche, I never know how to respond to these people. I don’t want to be rude to them, especially when most of them are so polite and calling me is not okay. Soon I will be hiring a relationship editor who can assist you with any legitimate requirement. In the meanwhile, I am concentrating more on a few more navtej kohli ventures including:
